SPACIOUS LOW HEIGHT ‘FRENCH ASH GREY’ ANTIQUE WARDROBE
D I M E N S I O N S
Height: 182.5 cm
Length: 127 cm
Depth: 55 cm
Standing on bracket feet and displaying some exquisite carving detail to its two 'arch panel' doors, this hugely pleasing, late Edwardian oak wardrobe makes for a most handsome, and spacious piece of bedroom furniture.
A well proportioned piece, of English origin, providing for a combination of both 'hanging' and shelving storage.
Internally featuring for two, stepped hanging rails - each of which, comfortably accommodating for an standard, adult coat hanger.
To the r/h side, there is also the bonus of a deep, fixed shelf and large fixed mirror, to the door.
In terms of condition, with the exception of two, isolated areas of missing trim to the r/h side of the cornice (please refer to images 8 and 9), this hugely handsome piece remains in fine working order.
Painted in a hand mixed shade of timeless 'Ash Grey' - made to our own, unique BB recipe - this mid charcoal grey is comparable in tone to F&B's 'Dovetale' - think timeless, 'provincial French' you will get the idea!
Another of our 'perfect neutrals' - drawing on a palette inspired by the varied hues of the magnificent dry stone walls that divide the breathtaking Derbyshire landscape, where we live.
All of the above before finally being aged, using 'specialist artisan techniques' - all of which go to provide the painted woodwork with a most divine, 'textured' finish - in a manner that remains the very cornerstone of antique, French painted pieces.
With plenty of 'rough texture' to its finish, it will appeal to those of you who, (if like me), appreciate and embrace the look of authentic 'imperfection' in their 'painted' pieces of furniture!
