It was George Hepplewhite who wrote, in 1788, that 'furniture should unite elegance and utility and blend the useful with the agreeable'.
And this utterly divine, and highly pleasing George III Style Hunt Table clearly echos that sentiment.
Crafted in the style of Robert Adams, this utterly exquisite table standing on four richly carved, tapered legs, to spade feet.
The handsome frieze with carved anthemions, swags and the central urn which was so typical of Adam's designs.
The top has carved fine molded edge.
The table presented In very good condition, making for a hugely fine piece of English, reproduction furniture.
Painted in a classic, hand-mixed shade of 'dark, Gunmetal- Grey, made to our own, unique BB recipe.
For colour guidance, this particular mix being lose in tone to F&Bs 'Worsted'.
This classic mid tone grey being synonymous with both French and Gustavian antique pieces - and is another from our refined, 'classic 'neutrals' - which have, in each instance been inspired by the varied hues of the magnificent Dry Stone walls that divide the breathtaking Derbyshire landscape, where we live.'
Exquisitely artisan aged and distressed, using own unique, Belle Biche, artisan ageing techniques, it will appeal to those of you who, (if like me) appreciate and embrace the look of authentic 'imperfection' in their painted pieces of furniture.
