Height: 89 cm
Length: 105 cm
Depth: 36 cm
Of English origin, presented here a splendidly handsome, 'rough luxe', turn of the century, antique Morning Sideboard.
With an appealing, natural vibe, this lightweight, fruitwood cabinet displays fine, clean lines.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, fruitwood was widely used for the construction of vernacular or 'country' furniture, here in England.
With this pretty 'Morning Sideboard' being a lovely example.
A compact, slimline piece - standing on a pleasing 'plinth' base.
Its two doors flanked by turned column supports, which add for pretty depth and interest.
Having a rectangular top above a full-width, single drawer.
With a two door cabinet, below, internally configured with a single, full-width shelf.
Its relatively compact proportions making it an ideal storage/display piece for a small cottage home, or whenever space may be at a premium, be it in a hallway, kitchen, bathroom,sitting-room, or dining room.
The cabinet comes complete with original ornate, brass hardware and working key.
All in all, offering for a pleasing and practical rustic, provincial style cabinet, displaying pleasing 'timeworn depth' and 'character', which, in spite of its relatively diminutive size, offers for a surprisingly good amount of storage.
Artisan painted in a wonderfully 'earthy brown' mix, which we would best describe as sumptuous, antique 'nutty' brown - if you think of the dark, moody and muted brown tones used in the divine, paintings of the 'Dutch Masters', you should, get the idea.
For further guidance - this mix being mid-way between F&B's 'Mouse's Back' and 'Charleston Grey'.
Being another of our 'classic key neutrals' which have, in each instance been inspired by the varied hues of the magnificent dry stone walls that divide the breathtaking Derbyshire countryside, where we live.
All of the above being achieved before being exquisitely 'artisan aged', using our unique, in-house Belle Biche ageing techniques.
Lending to the painted wood a divine, and highly appealing 'timeworn' depth, which is at the very essence of all our unique, original Belle Biche, 'French Painted' works.
