Of English origin, presented here, a superbly handsome, 'rough luxe', original mid-19th century 2- door oak side cabinet.

For those seeking the true elements of a genuine 'rough luxe' antique piece, this mid-Victorian antique 2-cabinet. would certainly tick all the boxes.
Displaying a perfect combination of 'authentic' timeworn depth, and handsome, decorative features.

Having a rectangular top, to a fixed, richly carved gallery back.
Welcomed storage provided by 2 drawers, the right of which, fitted with green baize dividers.
Its handsome decorative drawers also retaining their original brass 'pear drop' pulls.

Below, a two door, full height cabinet.
The double doors of pleasing 'panel' design, retaining their pleasing brass escutcheons and complete with 1 original working key.

With various signs of its previous history, this antique piece does present some signs of wear, by means of localised surface scrapes, knocks and chips - which add such lovely depth and character to what is a really very handsome and honest, compact English antique cabinet.

For us, none of the above wear at all detracting from what is an most handsome and practical piece of antique English furniture.
Additional images of said wear, available upon request.

So to conclude, if you are wishing to have a tidy and faultless piece, this is probably not a good choice for you. Although, for those of you who embrace real, authentic 'timeworn' depth in their antique 'painted' works and who are not afraid to love the battle scars that some pieces carry, this beautiful cabinet would be a perfect choice!

Colour wise, artisan painted in a hand-mixed shade of timeless, mid-tone, 'French Ash Grey' - created to our own, unique BB recipe - and being close in tone to F&B's 'Dove Tale'.

This 'French Ash Grey' mix being another of our classic, BB key 'neutral' and earthy colours - each of which, having been inspired by the varied hues of the magnificent dry stone walls that divide the breathtaking Derbyshire landscape, where we live.

All of the above being achieved, before applying our unique specialist ageing techniques - finished in a manner that remains the very cornerstone of rustic French Country pieces.

Another of our original Belle Biche works, that will appeal to those of you who, (if like me), appreciate and embrace the look of authentic 'imperfection' in their painted pieces of furniture!
